Suffering from an anxiety attack, unfortunately, now a days is quite common. As people would spend more time on their screens and indoor more, it’s quite easy to get pulled into this routine and end up developing anti-social behavior.
There used to be a time where kids would spend most of their time playing outside and exploring the world around them but those times are gone as tech has taken its place in our day to day life, kids now would much prefer to stay indoors and spend their time behind screen, mostly doing unproductive activities. It’s no wonder that most of them struggle to strike up a convocation with people with real life, adding more to the anxiety an individual may feel as it’s something out of their normal routine.
Moreover, due to the recent events that transpired after the Covid pandemic, people are still in fear that their livelihood and/or health could be at risk anytime, if any global crisis emerges again. Just the thought of having your means for survival or living taken from you or the health of your loved one being robed away from them by an illness, has still made people to be in a state of uneasiness about the future.
But the reality is that a global crisis is quite an extreme case scenario, in fact the likelihood of something like this occurring is quite rare. And even if it does happen it’s not something that has ever stopped humanity from thriving as many other global or continental scale crisis have occurred before.
What the future holds for us can never be certain to us, no matter how prepared we are. Once we understand this we can accept the fact that some things can never be in our control.
So to overcome this anxiety you could practice a few things to keep your mind and thoughts in check
Journaling:
Try writing down all the positive things that have happened to you throughout your day or week. At first you may struggle to find even one good thing, but soon you would be able to list down many things. This activity basically helps an individual to see the bright side in life, count the good that they have. This should be able to get your mind off from all the negative thoughts that may be triggering your anxiety
Exercise:
Physical activity has always proven quite beneficial for our body, especially when talking about health and longevity. But this also has a positive effect on us regarding stress and anxiety as it can help us by burning up all the stress hormone that build up in our body in moments of stress and anxiety. So try to get in at least 3-4 workouts (this could be as simple as cardio) to get its maximum effects.
Eating Good Food:
You may have heard the saying “you are what you eat” at least once in your life and this saying isn’t far from the truth.

Meditation:
Learn to be the master of your own mind, learn to take focus in your mind and try to live in the present by not worrying too much about the future. Try to utilize breathing techniques, especially if you suffer from hyperventilation, and incorporate some yoga into it too. The more in control you are of you feel in the moment, the more confident you would be in tense situation.
Sleep Better:
Sleeping is our body’s way to revitalize itself, it heals our body and mid in doing so. Having a good night of sleep is essential for our mental wellbeing, so make sure you have proper 7-8 hours of sleep to calm and refresh your mind as insomnia may be the reason as to why you are experiencing anxiety.
Socialize and Network:
The people you surround yourself with are a reflection of you mind. Always try to have an open mind whenever you meet someone as you may never know what you might learn from them. Moreover it’s a good way to brush up on your communication and socializing skills. This is a good way to eliminate any social anxiety you may have
While these are all great ways to combat your anxiety, you have to remember that stress and anxiousness is something which will come and go from time to time and there is no perfect antidote against it. You have to learn and develop habits to cope with it.
Because even a public speaker can experience anxiety from time to time, as it’s a very human and normal thing to experience, so never thing you are alone in this by yourself.
